ACSA Conference Sensory Garden - September 2011

In conjunction with Thomson Adsett Architects, Taylor Brammer designed, built and manned a sensory garden at the Aged and Community Services Australia (ACSA) conference at Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre this week. Running over 3 days from the 13-15th September, this conference hosted a number of key speakers which attracted over 900 aged care providers, managers, developers and suppliers from all over Australia to this annual event.

We created a Sensory Garden installation, designed as the name suggests and containing lush sensory plantings (supplied by Andreasens Green). Large panels were used to frame the pots and featured historical newspaper clippings from the 1850’s-1960’s to provide interest and a conversation point.  The ornate swing chair in the centre of the stall provided a necessary sense of movement which drew people into the space to sit and use the swing. The Jube seats also visited the conference and were a great hit with the aged care crowd due to their colour and durability.

A new addition to the Team - May 2011

Taylor  Brammer Landscape Architects welcomes a new Senior Landscape Architect to their South Coast office. Previously based in London, Jane Grant has recently returned from 8 years in England and regards issues of social and environmental sustainability to be of the utmost importance.

Jane has over 15 years experience working as a landscape architect and although she has overseen projects through all stages from conception to completion she most enjoys the conceptual / design stages and management of construction and maintenance contracts on site. She has managed the site work for community safety projects, park developments and residential schemes of various budgets including Stonegrove, in London, covering over 1000 new dwellings. In England she worked on many urban renewal schemes, working closely with the architects to produce contemporary schemes that contribute to positive urban and suburban living.
